Your opinions about Rosetta@home
Distributed computing seems more "hands on" in regards to helping further science. Sure, donating money is very good and very important, but for some people, it is easier to donate that money in the form of computing resources. Sure my electricity bill has gone up, I can accept that, and afford that. But by paying for the power to run my computers AND donating their processing power I have doubled my donation to the greater good of all people.

To expound further, distributed computing provides a platform for continued education. Literally, if it hadn’t been for SETI starting it all (in the main stream I mean) I wouldn’t have learned as much as I have about the workings of my computers, or the software that runs them.

I believe very strongly that education is the only tool we as humans have that can save this planet and its inhabitants.
